Our Commitment

At Mubix Labs, we build tools for developers. We understand that your code, your clients' websites, and your workflow are sensitive. This policy explains plainly what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we never do with it.

Short version: Most of SEO Insight Engine runs entirely on your machine. We collect the minimum information necessary to operate paid features and improve the product. We do not sell your data. We never will.

1. What Data We Collect

1.1 Free Plan Users (No Account Required)

The free plan requires no account and collects no personal data. All processing happens locally on your machine. No data is transmitted to Mubix Labs servers.

1.2 Paid Plan Users (Account Required)

When you purchase a paid plan, we collect:

Account information:

  • Email address (used for license key delivery and account management)
  • License key identifier (used to validate your subscription status)

Transaction information:

  • Purchase confirmation and subscription status
  • Payment is processed by Lemon Squeezy. We do not receive or store your card number, billing address, or payment details.

License validation:

  • Each time the Extension validates your license, we receive a minimal ping containing your license key and a timestamp. No identifying device information is included.

1.3 AI Feature Users (Pro + AI and Team Plans)

When you use AI-powered features:

  • The publicly-visible text content of the page being analyzed (the same content visible to search engine crawlers) is transmitted to AI processing services
  • Image URLs (not the images themselves) may be transmitted for alt text generation
  • No source code, file paths, authentication tokens, environment variables, or private content is ever transmitted

1.4 Usage Analytics (Optional, Opt-In Only)

We may ask if you'd like to share anonymous usage data (which commands you use, how often, error types never content). This is entirely optional and off by default. You can enable or disable it at any time in the Extension settings.

2. What We Never Collect

We will never collect:

  • Your source code
  • File contents (other than publicly-visible page HTML during AI analysis)
  • Credentials, API keys, or environment variables
  • Browsing history
  • Information about other software installed on your machine
  • Data from websites you audit (beyond the temporary processing needed to run the audit)

3. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data only to:

  • Deliver and validate your license
  • Send transactional emails (purchase confirmation, license key, renewal reminders)
  • Respond to support requests you initiate
  • Detect and prevent abuse of the licensing system
  • Improve the Extension based on aggregate, anonymized analytics (only if you opt in)

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

4. Data Sharing

We share your data with third parties only as follows:

All third-party providers are contractually required to handle your data according to applicable privacy laws and may not use it for purposes beyond what's described here.

We do not sell your data.

5. Data Storage and Security

  • License and account data is stored on secured servers with encryption at rest and in transit
  • License keys are stored locally in VS Code's encrypted secrets storage not in plain text
  • We retain account data for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days after cancellation, then it is deleted
  • AI-processed content is not stored after the analysis is returned to you

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Withdraw consent for optional analytics at any time

We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

The Extension itself does not use cookies. Our website (mubixlabs.studio) uses:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: Required for the site to function (e.g., session management)
  • Analytics cookies: Only if you explicitly accept them via our cookie banner
  • Marketing and advertising cookies: Only if you explicitly accept them via our cookie banner used for ad measurement and retargeting through partners such as Google Ads and Meta Pixel

8. Children's Privacy

SEO Insight Engine is intended for use by developers and professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us at privacy@mubixlabs.studio and we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We will notify active subscribers of material changes to this policy via email at least 14 days before they take effect. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
